Telmo Rodriguez is a Spanish winemaking icon, boasting over three decades of experience that have shaped the industry as we know it today. Alongside Pablo Eguzkiza, Telmo spearheaded a revolution at Rioja's Remelluri estate in the late 1980s, reshaping perceptions of Spanish wines in the post-Franco era.

With extensive experience in renowned French wineries, Telmo and Pablo embarked on a journey across Spain's forgotten regions, dedicated to rediscovery, reinterpretation, and reinvention. Their commitment to authenticity is unwavering, blending modern techniques with traditional winemaking methods.

T-Rod, as affectionately known by his loyal fans, tends to 355 small plots across 80 hectares, cultivating 43 varieties of native grapes. Among his celebrated creations is Basa Blanco, born in 1996 in Rueda from native Verdejo grapes nurtured on stony, chalky hills.

Located 1.5 hours northwest of Madrid, Rueda's sandy-soiled plateau rises 700-800m above the Duero river, boasting a continental climate tempered by the Atlantic's influence. Basa Blanco emerges from 40-year-old, organically grown bush vines at 750m altitude, untouched save for a necessary hint of sulfur at bottling.

Fermented and aged in stainless steel, Basa Blanco exudes freshness, preserving its tropical, herbaceous pear aroma and a palate brimming with fruit flesh and tingling citrus acidity. Its savory minerality lingers in the finish, harmonizing with its exquisite fruit and zing. A firm favorite among enthusiasts, Basa Blanco is a guaranteed sell-out. Don't hesitate—secure your bottle swiftly to savor this exceptional delight. Once again, the early bird catches the worm.
